Manager of Field Operations
Byron joined the team at Strickland Security at the start of 2017. He attended Florida State University and Florida Atlantic University as a Criminal Justice major. Byron brings his years of security & operations controls to Strickland Security with a focus on developing new technologies to increase collaboration and improve our clients’ security. Byron has worked in private sector security for over 17 years, beginning in Marriott Hotels in 1999.
In 2003, Byron joined the Macy’s Loss Prevention team in South Florida. He held increasing positions of responsibility, including Lead Detective, Assistant LP Manager, and Multi-store LP Manager, GA. Byron established himself as an innovative thinker in shrink reduction, looking beyond simple shoplifting apprehensions, and instead focusing on systemic operational causes of profit erosion. He eventually took this skill set to Macy’s Inventory Control group as a Regional Manager for the largest volume region in the Macy’s South division. His responsibilities extended to over a dozen locations throughout Georgia and the Carolinas, including the company's flagship location at Lenox Mall. In his position he continued to assist in delivering improved shortage results, returning millions of dollars to the bottom line.
Following his time at Macy’s, Byron served as the Area Loss Prevention Manager for Loehmann’s in the South Florida market and later as Corporate Director of Loss Prevention for Comp USA / TigerDirect, with physical security & shrink responsibilities for 40+ retail locations nationwide and in Canada, and dozens of warehouses and sales offices internationally.
